Conferences

We organize multi-day conferences in which a diversity of youth from across the country come together to debate and draft a set of recommendations to advocate for. The conferences have dealt with sensitive topics related to youth issues, including social taboos.

Trainings

LOT has provided trainings on CV-building skills, communication and presentation skills: increasing the employability of Jordanian youth and other communities. We will expand this in our newest initiative FOR9A.

Workshops & Seminars

LOT has presented workshops on environmental, social and sociocultural issues at high schools in Amman. We have worked with several local schools.
In addition, we have collaborated with the U.S embassy to have LOT representatives and volunteers attend workshops with U.S experts and visitors in Jordan.
During the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), LOT has organized a seminar on the social responsibility of the private and public sector in Jordan

Volunteer Services:

We have provided volunteers for several events, including art education workshops and art fairs in collaboration with START Dubai and UNRWA; English teaching for Iraqi refugees in East Amman in cooperation with the Women’s Federation for World Peace in Jordan. In addition, we share other volunteer opportunities with our LOT network. We also recruit volunteers for any of our own initiatives (including Anna Lindh Festival, conferences etc.)

Cultural Exchanges

LOT has participated in several cultural exchanges in Jordan and abroad with organizations in Poland, the United States and the United Kingdom. Young Jordanians have the opportunity to interact with their peers coming from different cultural backgrounds and nationalities. During an exchange, youth from both countries work together towards common goals, and share their experiences. We worked with the following educational institutions, including University of Wisconsin – Green Bay (USA), Ferris State University (USA), and United World Colleges (UK).

Campaigns

We have organized a large youth mobilizing campaign in 2010 to talk with youth in public spaces about the social implications of the parliamentary elections. Events took place across the country in each governorate (except Tafileh) from shopping malls to squares, from universities to parks.Election booklets, stickers and t-shirts were tools we used on the ground to reach out to youth.Youth Needs Assessment:The youth needs assessment has been conducted since 2009 and carried on in 2010. Since 2011 we have been analyzing the data. Consultants from the US constructed the survey to assess the current needs gaps of the 4-year youth policies carried out in Jordan
